The world famous Tsukiji Fish Market walking tour will lead you to be overwhelmed with the sounds, sight and smell of fish. We explore the back alleys and narrow corridors of the Tsukiji fish market, walking through piled stacks of tuna, jumbo crabs and other sea delicacies. Many of the snacks and seafood are sold at the outer market. Try crunchy surface and fluffy center Satsuma-age (deep-fried minced fish and vegetables), fluffy and well-balanced sweet omelette, thick and creamy raw oysters, rich and juicy minced meat cakes, etc. Of course, you will have enjoyable and delicious sushi lunch. This tour does NOT include watching tuna auction because of the following reasons.
-You should get there at around 3:00 am.
The auction start at 5:25 and 5:50 in the morning, and it only allows 120 visitors per day. We’ll need to get to the fish market early and wait in line to get tickets. We’re not allowed to pick up tickets for someone else.
-You have to wait one to three hours under the harsh circumstances.
It’s extremely cold in the winter time. The waiting lounge is not heated. You have to sit on the floor in the waiting room. There are no chairs for you to sit.
-You need to pay for a taxi ride for the guide to pick you up.
We are sorry that none of our guide live close enough to Tsukiji. There is no 24-hour train or bus service in Tokyo to commute from the guide’s living area to central Tokyo’s hotel district. It costs about 10,000-15,000Yen.
